Eye Care and Surgery has been at it's primary Roanoke location on Electric Road since 1991.

There are also two satellite offices:

Eye Care & Surgery specializes in comprehensive ophthalmic and optometric care for the entire family, including:

  • examination and measurement for glasses and/or contact lenses,
  • refractive surgery,
  • LASIK Surgery,
  • radial keratotomy,
  • eye laser surgery
  • low vision examinations.

They also diagnose and treat eye diseases such as:

Eye Care & Surgery is staffed by a team of highly trained doctors specializing in various fields of eye care.

Opthalmologists:

  • Lee Thomas Helms, M.D., received his undergraduate degree from Hampden-Sydney College and his doctorate degree from the Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Helms is Board Certified in Ophthalmology.
  • Carey W. Robinson, M.D., received his undergraduate degree from Northeast Louisiana University and his doctorate from Louisiana State University. Dr. Robinson is Board Certified by the American Board of Opthalmology.
  • William "Kip Thompson, M.D., is a Roanoke Valley native. He attended the University of Virginia, receiving his undergraduate degree in Biology and Doctorate of Medicine degree. He is also a comprehensive opthalmologist who is Board eligible.

Optometrists:

  • Kevin Coolbaugh. O.D., completed his optometric training at the University of Houston, College of Optometry. He has been employeed by Eye Care & Surgery P.C. since 1996.
  • Shari Coolbaugh, O.D., is a graduate of the University of Houston, College of Optometry. and has practiced primary and secondary opthalmic care as an employee of Eye Care & Surgery P.C. since 1996.
